Jacob's Mission

This past week was amazing! Potentially one of my favorites so far! 😁 Last munday feels like forever ago Tuesday also feels like forever ago. Second to last lesson with jónína. Wednesday, we drove to Reykjavik for a zone conference. When we got there, we had the opportunity to go contacting with Elders Richards and Petersen. It was so weird being in the city. Reykjavik's the biggest city in Iceland, but it's nothing compared to Houston. (To give you something to picture the size, they have signs telling the farmers not to drive their tractors downtown during business hours, which isn't something that needs to be clarified in Houston, or any other city that I know of XD). Despite that, it felt huge. Akureyri's tiny, and I've been here so long that I've adjusted to it. Þakkargjörðarhátíð - On Thursday, we fasted in preparation for the zone conference. Sælllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, hvað er að frétta hjá ykkur? This week was pretty great! The zone leaders came up last Monday, and left Wednesday morning. It was pretty awesome! I went with Elder Brown, and we had a pretty deep comp. study! We talked about the member-missionary relationship, and the member-member relationship. The branch here is really small, so things work out differently than a traditional ward, at least in the states (that I've experienced so far). But it was awesome! Elder Brown just spat wisdom. The branch is awesome, but being in one so small is such a unique experience! It's made me appreciate just how much work is done to run a branch/ward. Jónína's still doing amazing! We're gonna visit her tomorrow and bake an apple pie. She's got legendary apple pie, and I love it so much. All the baptism preparations are wrapping up nicely as well! It's gonna be a wonderful experience. Pray for the weather to go well on Saturday though!...

Hello people! Sorry that I didn't send an email last week! Wow, these past 14 days have felt like an eternity. Elder Mattson got here from the MTC! He's awesome, and I'm really glad I get to train him. We've been working extra hard, and the lord's definitly blessing us. His Icelandic has improved so much in just the past 2 weeks. It's insane. Also, last monday, Jónína decided to get bapitized! She's all set to be baptized on the 26th, and confirmed the next day. She's also asked me to baptize her! I'm super excited. It's gonna be an amazing experience for her! This past week I've been thinking a lot about Joseph Smith's experience in liberty jail. I even got to give a talk about it yesterday, I might attach a link to it in this email, but I'll probably forget by the end of it... But it's still insane just how much Elder Mattson's Icelandic has improved. He gave a 20ish minute talk yesterday all in Icelandic. Church was an...
