Hey guys! This week went pretty well! We put Daríel, the 10 year old back on baptismal date for November 4th! Pray for him and his family to continue to attend church. We also got transfer news! I'll be with Elder Carr again but this time in the Reykjavik area. Elder Mattson will be replacing Elder Whittle as zone leader with me! It'll be interesting to not be comps with him despite that haha. We taught our friend Mitchell again, and I must say it's really refreshing to talk to someone who is open about his thoughts on religion but willing to learn more and expand his faith! I can tell that he really understands as we teach. We've been battling some sickness this week, and it's getting darker noticably sooner than normal. Wish me us luck lol. I've also had a great experience with studying the scriptures. I've been better at having specific goals in mind, and studying with a solid purpose, it leads to revelation á whole lot more often than just reading, even ...

Splits in Akureyri!

Hello guys! This week was pretty good! We set our friend on baptismal date! Armando has agreed to prepare to be baptized by immersion of someone holding the proper priesthood authority on October 28th! The lesson went well. The gift of tongues is real though! One of our newly baptized members, magnús, invited his friend to church! After the service was over, she accepted the invite to learn more about the gospel! We went on splits to Akureyri this week! It was my first time going back since I left! It was so awesome to see Jónína again! She's literally the best! The strongest member in the branch! She's read the Book of Mormon 3 times, D&C twice, Principles of the Gospel twice, and she's still going! And she's been a member for less than a year! (She also read the new testament). The Elders there are great! It's been incredible to see their growth. They've been on the mission for about 10 months each, and wow, it's incredible! This week I want to emphas...

Elder Stevenson

Hello Everyone! Man this week was crazy. If you read my last email, you'd know that Elder Gary E. Stevenson came to Iceland this past thursday (which was also my 18 month mark ;-;). It was crazy! Before Elder Stevenson spoke to the members, we had a missionary meeting with him as we ate dinner. It was a super fancy dinner that the hotel he was at hosted. All 7 of us young missionaries got there a few minutes early, so we were standing outside the room to not mess anything up. There were 3 tables, and a mystery seating chart. Shortly before Elder Stevenson arrived we were informed of our seating arrangment. To my surprise, I was to sit at the same table as Elder Stevenson! I was super excited but also a little nervous. My mind raced as I tried to remember all the etiquette my mom had taught me. I would be sitting there with Elder Whittle, The Barrett's (the best missionary couple who were with me in the MTC), President Ólafur and Sister Björg from the mission presidency, and the...

Neiiiiiiii blesssssssssaðurrrrrrrrr!! Hello guys! Hope you're all doing well! This week was pretty good! We found 2 more people to teach, both of them are from Mexico! It's super awesome. We bonded over mexican food, and roasted Iceland's version of mexican food haha. He said he'd make us tacos and I'm so excited guys. Icelandic tacos are not it. He's super cool though! We found him through our language classes! He's learning both english and Icelandic. NEWS! Elder Stevenson of the Quorum of the 12 is coming to Iceland on Thursday!!! This is so exciting. He's gonna be meeting with the missionaries for about 2 hours before he gives a public address. It's gonna be super cool to be so close to an apostle and be able to speak with him so closely! There's not too many missionaries here, so it'll be extra personal. He asked for our first names and everything. This hasn't happened in Iceland since before I was born! He had originally planned on ...
