Jacob's Mission

Góðan daginn! This week was super short. We did a lot of Facebook work, partially because I had to write a talk for church, so I was working on that as Elder Whittle worked on Facebook. The talk went fairly well I'd say, nobody left or threw tomatoes at me! Then after church, a person named Danny, who´s only in Iceland for 3 weeks to work about an hour north of Akureyri, wanted to go knocking with us! It was super awesome because he had a car, so we were able to go some places that we normally can't reach. We went to lunch with a member, and they chose a little fast food type place that sold us deep fried hot dogs, covered in bacon I believe (not positive). then drowned in fries covered in cheese, and some spices on the top not to mention sauce in the bun. Any more than one, and you'll probably have an instantaneous heart attack. DANG. Icelandic is a bully. Góðan Daginn! This week has been pretty awesome! On tuesday I got transfered to Akureyri. I had to take a 35ish minute plane ride to get there. It's the fastest and cheapest way haha. I was all by myself though, and it was really interesting. Akureyri's a beautiful area. The weather is really unpredictable. It's either really beautiful, or really miserable. There's not much middle ground, but it's really awesome all the time because I get to serve the lord. The apartment's really nice! My companion, Elder Whittle, is the second newest Elder in Iceland! We're both learning super fast. And we get along really well together. The Akureyri Branch is really small. There's about 13 members, and only 3 came this sunday. But there was a bunch of tourists too. The building is the 3rd story of an office/shop building, which is really cool! It has a nice look out over the fjord. Good morning! We got our transfer information! I'm going to Akureyri with elder Wittle! It's gonna be super awesome. Elder Wittle and I are the newest missionaries on Iceland, and Akureyri is 5.5 hours from any other missionaries, so it's gonna be such an amazing opportunity for us to grow. Akureyri's area is huge, It's a 10 hour drive to get from one end to the other, but it doesn't have a car, so most of it will just be inaccesible but it should be so amazing! I fly there tuesday. 3 nephi 8:18 - There's been several hundred earthquakes within the past 72 hours! They're coming off the coast of Keflavík where the volcano is. It likely means that it's about to erupt! Mom, no need to be worried, it's not in a dangerous location ;). Worst case scenario they close the airports for a little bit. This week was pretty awesome!
