Selfoss week 1

Geeperz this week was a long one! On tuesday we taught Jóhanna, our friend on baptismal date, about the gospel of Jesus Christ! One of the members named Vala came. She's an amazing teacher! You can tell that she not only believes and knows the gospel, but lives it too. That evening we went knocking and ran into someone who was pretty impolite. It was a frustrating experience, but we stayed polite. It's alright though, he would've had a different perspective if he's studied both sides of the different issues he was annoyed with, he would understand more. On wednesday we made a fire training on how to begin teaching. Thursday we drove to Reykjavík for district council. Gave our awesome training, then got some pizza with the other missionaries. It was nice to not be all alone like it is in Akureyri. After that we drove back to Selfoss and tried to visit a bunch of potentials, but nobody was home. All in all we drove about 5 hours that day, but it's alright because...

Hello people! So much has happened the past two weeks, sorry I didn't get to write last week! first, we had transfers and I'm now in Selfoss! I had to say goodbye to my friends and the members, but I This weekend was historic though! On thursday we drove from Akureyri to Reykjavik for zone conference. Friday we had zone conference with Elder Boom from the Northern europe area presidency. He's super awesome! It was really amazing. During the conference, I was feeling a little down, but then I had a really cool experience with the spirit. It was kind of a personal reminder of the story of the currant bush by Elder Christofferson. When we feel down or beaten back or anything, it's because God wants to build us into something Else, something better. Even if we can't see the full picture. On Saturday we had a baptism! Magnús, one of the most elect members of the church ever, was baptized. He's a young adult about our age, who's got the biggest vision for h...

lasdjfpqowerhfqpwerf. I've been driven slightly mad, or in other words, I have gone insane. I couldn't tell you why specifically, but it definitly feels like it. I think it's largly because of the darkness and having such little interaction with people. It's been so hard to get out of bed at 6:30. But, despite the pending insanity, this week was pretty epic B). Tuesday - We went to visit Jónína! She was sick but recovered like a champ. I'm not sure what's too personal to say, so this might be vague, but she's doing the things and completing the commitments that make a person more likely to endure to the end! It makes us really happy to see. Her grandaughter was there, and she looked like one of my friends @Sabrina Gooch, which means she looked like me, only female. We also had an extremely good weekly planning session. It felt really good to have specific goals and proactive steps to reach them. Wednesday - We taught an English class to Rafael and 2 new...

Gleðilegt Nýtt Ár!

Hello people of the earth! I hate to flex, but I've been in 2023 for 5-6 hours longer than most of you... This week felt really long. A little context to what happens next: So, the members and other people in Akureyri love to give us food, and it's awesome! (for everything except my waistline.......) And in the holiday season, they were extra generous, and we recieved so much food. Before the influx of food giving, i had made a bunch of taco meat so that I could eat it quickly later if needed, but as it would turn out, it wasn't needed for a week, or 2, or 3. So, this past tuseday I finally cracked open the taco stuff again, and it smelled just fine, looked just fine, and tasted just fine (other than the fact that I microwaved it). But at hertex I started feeling really nauseous (is it nauseous or nausious?). I thought it might've just been the air. Lots of cigarette smoke.... But then it didn't get better. I fought feelings of illness all day, but that night I l...
