Hello! This week was really long. Several things happened. We taught this guy named Kristjón with 2 of his friends. It was awesome. They're all around the age of 20, just 3 Icelandic dudes, and all 3 of them wanted to meet again! We met Kristjón through the Book of Mormon ad which we have on facebook. They asked a lot of good questions, but they really really want to read the Book of Mormon and understand it. Upon asking what I should write: "Arnar is a saint, a Latter-day saint. He's perfectly imperfect, and he's the volcano that's going off in Iceland". I've finished (nearly) all of the new Preach My Gospel. It's amazing! As I was studying the 4th lesson, I was led to this verse: D&C 82:8-9 "And again, I say unto you, I give unto you a new commandment, that you may understand my will concerning you; Or, in other words, I give unto you directions how you may act before me, that it may turn to you for your salvation. I have a testimony of th...

Góðan daginn! How've you been? How's the weather? This week was pretty good! Remember those earthquakes? Well last monday after I sent my email, the volcano decided to erupt. At one point the fissure was nearly 1km long. As of now, the area is closed, apparently when the earth's insides want to be the earth's outsides, it releases toxic gas and so if the wind isn't cooperating, we can't hike there safely ;-;. But we'll see. Preach My Gospel 2.0 is epic! I've read almost the whole thing now. IDK if I mentioned this so I'll mention it again, but the church published a whole second edition. It's awesome. complete overhaul! It's really increased my testimony of the ongoing restoration. Elder Whittle and I are doing well together. We went contacting in a bus station, and talked with this guy from Venezuela. It was only in Spanish, but it was a really solid contact! Gift of tongues works miracles. Gloria came to church with her friend! At the end...

Góðan og blessaðan daginn! This week was full of all sorts of things. We got to meet Gloria, this Kenyan lady who's really nice. We went with Elder Gunderson and she really liked his passion for the gospel! On Sunday she attended church and really loved it! One of the members picked her up, and the members were fantastic at fellowshipping her. Funke came as well! She's awesome. I've never taught anyone who has a better understanding of the gospel than her. She's ready to be baptized. Please pray for her and her husband! Vyacheslav came as well! He's really great and I could tell he enjoyed it. Elder Whittle and I have been getting along well. Elders Pearson and Richards went home on Saturday (their flight got delayed one day). It was sad to say goodbye and also weird that I'm the 2nd most senior missionary in Iceland haha... On Tuesday we went out to a place called Shake & Pizza, which claims to have had the 4th best pizza in the world, but it wasn't m...

RIP to the straight Kings and Legends.

Hello people! This week was really interesting. President Mattsson flew to Iceland last Monday to do interviews on Tuesday. He took us out to launch at this fish and chips place, then out to Gelato. He spent $300 only on the fish and chips. He's so awesome. It was extremely vibey, and then I got an interview with him and it went well. We got a new friend! Her name is Gloria. I actually taught her when I was in Reykjavík last year. This week I stumbled across a talk by President Monson, and there was a poem in there that has been super impactful. It says: Good timber does not grow with ease, The stronger wind, the stronger trees. The further sky, the greater length. The more the storm, the more the strength. By sun and cold, by rain and snow, In trees and men good timbers grow. I've been reflecting a lot about this. We're taught to stand in Holy places and be not moved, but sometimes through no fault of our own we find ourselves in less than holy places. The Lord g...
