This week was really amazing! We've been working extra hard to find people and the Lord has been blessing our efforts. We've been knocking and street contacting and doing facebook referrals to try to find people to teach! If I'm being honest, none of those things had any success, however God has rewarded our faith. Many miracles have occurred and I know that it's a result of God's trust that we earned through the work. This Sunday, a family came to church whom I assumed were tourists! The father got up to the pulpit to bear his testimony (we had a fast and testimony meeting this week because of General Conference). As he's bearing his testimony he states that he and his family will be living here for 1 year! That's a tremendous blessing to the branch! His wife is Danish (So she might be able to learn Icelandic before the year is over) and they have 3 small sons! They seem super amazing and they have strong testimonies. One of their sons' names is Rasmus, making him my namesake.
Another miracle: This week we got a message from missionaries in Washington state. They have a referral moving to Iceland! It's a miracle that she's moving to our area because she's from Texas and living in washington! I'm from Texas, Elder Carr's from Washington. We have high hopes for her!
Another one: We found one of the Sisters' old friends named Francisco. He's awesome, we started teaching him again!
A fourth one: Our friend Jan brought her friend Haraldur to Church. The Sunday school lesson was on baptisms for the dead. At the end I turned to him and said "I'm sure you have questions, if you'd like we'd love to meet up sometime and answer them". He agreed! Miracle.
A 5th: Brother Richard, the 1st councilor in the Elders Quorum brought his friend into Church. He also would like to meet up and learn more! Sheeeeeesh.
Margrét, the newly baptized member, translated to english for everyone! Epic.
Though our direct efforts didn't bring forth much visible success, I know that the Lord blessed us with these miracles because our efforts are acts of faith and worship to Him!
Love you all so much!
