President Mattsson

Image
Ooooh yes I may have made the deal of the century. President Mattsson is the goat. Let me tell you there's no better mission president in the world. Not even close. He's top tier. He came for zone conference and to do some branch business. The deal that I made though, oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh baby. I asked if we could swap name tags and he said YES B). He said he'd prepare and come with an extra one in February when he comes back. Let's goooooooooo. It'll be my prized possession. Our Friend Jan is still on track to be baptized this Saturday. We've been working with some Chinese Elders to teach her. It's kind of epic though. Magnús, a member that got baptized in January, is gonna perform the baptism! He's the one who referred her to us! We had an amazing lesson with our friend Anointed. She attended church the following day and said that she loved it! On Thursday we had a zone p-day where we went to tour some glacial caves. That was pretty cool. We also ma...

Esther Alfa

Hey guys! This week was crazy. Many unexpected things happened. We learned on Saturday morning that Esther Alfa had passed away. This came as a complete surprise to everyone. She was extremely young to pass away and the cause is yet unknown. I don't know who remembers, but Esther was the first convert that I had the opportunity to teach. She was baptized a few weeks after I got to Iceland. Keep her family in your prayers. Today at FHE we shared memories of her. Esther was a devout christian, strong in her faith, and never scared to stand for her belief in the Savior. She was an example of the believers to everyone she was arround. Please keep her family in your prayers! On friday we meet with ...

Transfer news....

So we got transfer news on Saturday, and transfers will take place this coming saturday. Nothing's changing, so that's easy. I do want to point out however that after this Saturday I'll only have 3 transfers left. What the heck. It's mind boggling that it's already november. This year has gone by like a minecraft speedrun, way too fast. Last night we had a mission wide zoom meeting to give the missionaries that are going home a chance to say goodbye and share their testimonies. Only 2 are leaving this time, and they both gave powerful testimonies. One of them talked about how awkward she was and how it made her mission difficult because she was scared to go out and talk to people. She shared how she'd been praying for help to overcome it and then one day she got a letter from one of her friends. In the letter the person said "It's better to love someone awkwardly than to ignore them blissfully". That's a powerful truth. I've often had fear ...
