Last night we had a mission wide zoom meeting to give the missionaries that are going home a chance to say goodbye and share their testimonies. Only 2 are leaving this time, and they both gave powerful testimonies. One of them talked about how awkward she was and how it made her mission difficult because she was scared to go out and talk to people. She shared how she'd been praying for help to overcome it and then one day she got a letter from one of her friends. In the letter the person said "It's better to love someone awkwardly than to ignore them blissfully". That's a powerful truth. I've often had fear of doing something out of love for another person because I was scared that things would be awkward, but everytime that I've faced that fear and showed a random act of love for that person, it's paid off.
This week we got to have several lessons including the members and I must say that they're pretty great! The presence of members is a strong way to help people progress on their spiritual journey
Our friend Anointed is progressing well! She's keeping her commitment to read from the Book of Mormon, and we got to teach her with one of the members! I have high hopes for her!
Jan is also doing well, we connected with some mandarin speaking elders in France to help us teach her and she's started progressing really fast. Unfortunately it's like an hour long bus ride for her to attend church and her typical ride is out of town. He should get back soon though!
We visited Telma and Daríel in Akranes! We unfortunately had to postpone Daríel's baptism again. After putting him on date for the 4th, they went out of town for a few weeks and we didn't get to teach him for a while. The Tibbitts' came with us. They said that he's probably ready to be baptized. I'm not entirely sure though because I've never helped prepare a kid for baptism. I really wish that they could attend church more frequently though. They do have genuine reasons for not making it at least.
Love,
