Esther Alfa
We learned on Saturday morning that Esther Alfa had passed away. This came as a complete surprise to everyone. She was extremely young to pass away and the cause is yet unknown. I don't know who remembers, but Esther was the first convert that I had the opportunity to teach. She was baptized a few weeks after I got to Iceland. Keep her family in your prayers. Today at FHE we shared memories of her. I shared this verse:
Alma 46:21 "And it came to pass that when Moroni had proclaimed these words, behold, the people came running together with their armor girded about their loins, rending their garments in token, or as a covenant, that they would not forsake the Lord their God..."
Esther was a devout christian, strong in her faith, and never scared to stand for her belief in the Savior. She was an example of the believers to everyone she was arround.
Please keep her family in your prayers!
On friday we meet with Makda, this oriental orthodox lady. Sheesh that was a 2 hour long lesson. She couldn't get over the trinity. For 2 hours she tried to explain it to us, but she kept contradicting herself. After she realized that she couldn't convince us of the trinity as opposed to the Godhead, she decided that she no longer desired to meet with us.
Saturday morning we went to President Ólafur's house to do some service. They live on the countryside and we helped them move some lumber in their workshop.
The darkness has onset, and man it's hard to wake up on time. ekki gott.
I set a goal to read the whole bible by the end of the year! I'm reading the old and new testaments simultaneously. I've finished Genesis and Matthew! It's pretty cool! Wish me luck ngl.
